i just switched out a 40hp Evinrude Lark 2 with a 65hp Johnson and i cant get the motor to start. I know it runs because it ran when i bought it. The starter engages the flywheel but it wont fire up. My question is can i use the controls from the Evinrude motor for the Johnson? i am starting to think the Johnson would have a lanyard kill switch? Im thinking it has something to do with this or neutral safety switch. Any help would be appreciated.
