Johnson 3HP parts compatibility

Hi,
I recently got my hands on a Johnson JW-10, it's in pretty good shape for it's age except for a small crack in the lower unit housing (exhaust port). I'm trying to determine what years the parts are interchangable.Also can the exact year be determined by the serial number? (this model was made from 1952 to 1954)

Someone may have a list of which serial numbers go to which year - I don't. Those motors were pretty much the same from 1952-1968. Great little motors - guess that's why they didn't change them for so many years. I have a 3hp Evinrude of the same vintage and she runs like a brand new motor.
