1975 25hp rebuild question

On my 1975 25hp i am currently rebuilding the motor and the gasket kit did not come with a gasket for between the crankcase and cylinder and does not show one on the part breakdown should I use make a gasket when i took the motor apart it did not have a gasket or any make a gasket.

It doesn`t have a gasket there . They use a sealer like omc gel seal or yammabond.

Permatex Anarobic gasket maker 51813 or 51831. Same thing, just different size containers.

It doesn't say on the tube. I'd say 24 hrs. I did notice that the small amount that squeezed out never got hard. It stayed jelly-like.

Todd is right, it does not use a gasket. Use a gasket maker sealer. I rebuilt the same motor and used a similar aluminum gaseket sealer. The gasket never hardened. To this day its still jelly like (1 year later). Motor runs great.
