1976 Evinrude 55hp: Need piston and rings greater than 0.030" oversize.

Machine shop error. I'm desparate to find some pistons 0.040" or more over.

There is a set of .040 oversize pistons on ebay right now. It includes the rings and the wrist pins. Type in 1976 evinrude 55 hp piston.

Thanks milkjub. In a panic, I called Wiseco and they had 0.040 oversized. They were the same price as the 0.030 oversized and I was able to return the 0.030's after some groveling (it was past 30days). I pray the machine shop gets it right this time. Thanks for your response.

Have the machine shop given a written warranty that you have enough material left in the sleeves!! It gets critical thin for the head gasket so see to that both the cylinder part and head gets machined as well.
