25hp johnson. white.

it has 2 coils on the side and i believe the power pack is under the fly wheel because i can't see it and all of the wires from the coils go to the flywheel.

UFI i believe it's called? 1989-1992? not sure

where can i find the model number?

Re: identify my johnson

Model # should be on the ID plate on the transom bracket/clamp.

on the tiller handle side of the motor is a little rectangle on the transom mounting bracket.

Has it been painted over?

Maybe faded badly?

i don't think it's been painted over. the motor is in poor shape lol. peeling paint.

sooo after like 3 hours looking at parts diagrams i think i'm going to have to take the flywheel off and check the part number on the power pack....then get a conversion kit
for it lol.

after i check compression.

Re: identify my johnson

i noticed another thing today

the 89-90 25hp had a anode on the cavitation plate and no trim tab

the 91-92 had no anode on the cavitation plate and had a trim a tab.

my motor has an anode and no trim tab.

can the lower units interchange? or should i assume that mine is original.

Re: identify my johnson

i believe the motor is 1990 because the part number on the carb matches a 1990 model and no other years have that same number.

i tried to start it today. started on the first pull but it still needs a lot of work.
