73 evinrude 6 h.p. gas/oil mixture?

Just want to ask if the gas/oil mix is 50:1 on this engine? Thanks

thanks? what about plugs? says on the tiller handle j6c, but that has been changed to j6j parts place said they don't make a j6j anymore.j8j? will that be ok?

Champion J6J was the original plug number. The new Champion number is J6C, (most places stock it as Champion #823). Most auto parts stores either have, or can get them, for about $2 each. Original gap is .030" for normal use, if you'll be trolling you might want to increase the gap to .035" to reduce oil fouling.

hey thanks, must have got my numbers switched around. I'll get new plugs tomorrow.
