I just bought a '56 seahorse, and my plan is to restore it over the winter. Where can I find a manual, paper or digital? Also what was the original color red and white used on the motor? My brother does auto body, and he can shoot it and do all the body work on the cowl to make it look perfect, but I don't know what color was used. Or at least a modern equivalent.
here are some pics

also check out nymarine.ca......all decals and original paint. (i used a duplicolor paint.....vintage red/pearl, on a 56 cowl, it looks real good, but took multiple coats (4), to get it looking right. good luck with your project!

Nice find bpoulin! She'll clean right up. You can get all the tune up/maintenance parts right here at iboats. Here is a great online manual with exploded diagrams. I have a '61, so holler if you get stuck on anything. These 50's models all had cool two-tone paint jobs. Most folks really like the garnet and white paint job, but they came in the reverse color scheme too kind of like yours and in green and cream too.

I thought the green/cream was the 55 model?
This one will be brought back to the Holiday Bronze/Cream trim look. I think I'm going to have my brother take one of the parts under the cowl that hasn't been sun faded in for a paint match and see if House of kolor can match it. Just from looking at their website I think Brandywine will be a close match to start with, and they can probably mix it to make a perfect match.
