Re: is this normal

sorry im tring to diagnose a no spark issue and i think it the coil. useing an ohm meter from the coil secondary button to ground i have a continuity reading of about 4000.
also may help if i tell you im working on a 60 hp 1966 evinrude sportfour.
now testing the coil alone there are 2 wires one for ground and one for the points these wires make up the primary side right?
across these two wires good continuity around 0
both of these wires have a continuity of 4000 across the button on the coil, i could be wrong but i think only one of the wires should
hope this helps

Re: is this normal

Sounds about right. Primary winding should be 0.9 ohms (green and black wires). Secondary (black wire and coil spike) should be 4000-7000 ohms.
