1974 Evinrude Lark 50 oil mixture

Hi can anyone tell me the Oil mixture in a motor i just got.
Motor seems to run fine , not bad for free..

I have a tank for a evinrude 6hp 100:1 that does the mix for you was wondering if that would work. but If its 50:1 not even gonna try it.

I will also be replacing impeller,
lower unit oil ( can anyone provide Type of oil)
and will put in carb kits.

You need to use a 50:1 fuel mix on your 50 hp engine. I think that the specs have been changed on your 6hp also to use 50:1 also. You will need to use the 80/90 wt marine lower unit gear oil for your lower unit oil.

Oops I made a typo my motor is a 1974 lark 50hp. so i will use 50:1, and you say 80/90 wt marine lower unit gear oil thats for the 74 50hp I assume?

where could I read about my 6hp going from 100:1 to 50:1? On the engine itslef it says 100:1 but i guess more is better than less.

Correct on the fuel ratio and lower unit oil. Check with your local dealer, there should be a bulletin about it.

100:1 was a one season mistake by OMC. It was corrected a year later. All motors beyond ~ 1968 or so are 50:1 except the much newer E-Tecs.

Well I am glad I came on this board..

another question is the tank metal tank I have has 2 compartments 1 for gas 1 for Oil..its says for 100:1 engines. I guess I will just pre-mix the gas as the tank would not do the correct mixture anyways.
