1987 evinrude 15hp E15RLCUD carb identification

I have a 1987 evinrude 15hp E15RLCUD I wanna rebuild the carbs and fuel pump but when i went to order parts i found it has two different carb options, early or late production. How do you differentiate between them ?

i can giff you the sierra # the have the gaskets for the 2 carbs in them it is 18-7223 this is for your motor

The D in the end of the model # will tell you what series mtr you have.

sierra lists that as only compatible with early production carb kit 039453 and not 0398508 the late model kit ? do you know how to determine which carb ive got. I read something about a flat top and round top but it wasnt detailed enough for me to understand.

as i sad before the have 2 sets of bowl gastets in the kit the one has a big bowl and the old one has a smal one i use this kit all the time.

ok thanks ill take your word on it but i would still like to know how to determine which carb i have because i need to order a fuel pump kit and that is dependent on early or late model as well. If i figure out which carb i have i can order all the parts i need. Thanks

and the fuel pump kit shud be a 18-7823 at sierra

If you remove your carb. there will probably be a number stamped on the bottom of the bowl (or somewhere) that will tell you what you need to know. Best of luck. Rick.

Late model has a plastic top on it.

I didnt notice that earlier when i was looking at the fiche but i see what your talking about, part #25 in the late model is the difference. Thanks a lot !
