2005 Johnson 90 HP shifting into neutral problem

I have a problem coming out of gear and going into neutral. The boat is a center console and when I shift into neutral there is not a positive out of gear detent or stop. Is this a simple adjustment? I brought it to a dealer and he sat on boat for two weeks before he adjusted cables. He said it was fine but still have the same problem.

Do you mean it is hard to find N on your remote control? If it is hard to shift from in gear to nuetral I would suspect the shift interupt switch functioning properly.

When coming out of forward gear, I must go past the detent in the shifter in order to get the engine out of gear. Which cable (upper or lower is the shift)? I believe I need to adjust the cable.
