I'm removing the powerhead from one Johnson 25hp powerhead to put it on another, and I'm having a tough time getting to the 2 bolts that hold it on. Not only are they hard to get to, they're rusty. Looks like a 1/2" wrench - any particular wrench or configuration of wrench has anyone used to get to these things? Also, if they're too rusty, have you cut them off? Thanks for any help. Lee

Get a cheap wrench and heat it red hot and bend it to fit in there. Use PB Blaster on rusted bolts, it works well.

Thanks- I was trying to figure which wrench to bend and how.

For mine, I bent a combination wrench on both ends and got it to work. Many people here have ran into the same situation, and have bent wrenches to fit the job.
They do make special tooling just for that purpose, but they are high dollar, and difficult to find.

I too can attest to a bent 1/2 wrench for these 2 screws.

I used to use an old distributor wrench I used for automotive. OMC did make the proper tool.
