my first post on here. i have a 1993 tracker with a 1993 evinrude 9.9 outboard. it is a key switch with throttle. The other day i had it out and my cranking battery would not start the motor so i changed out my trolling motor battery and started the motor then switched the batteries back. when i did this the alarm came on in the ignition switch.
now, i can turn the key to the on position without starting the motor and the alarm will come on. i can start the motor, run it and the alarm will come on, i can slightly turn the key back to the off position just a hair and the alarm will go off. anyone have an idea what this might be. i know it could be one of 3 things - 1- hot alarm (i can run the motor and it gets warm to the touch, but not scolding hot) 2 - bad switch or 3 - sensor for water (however, i looked this up and one thread said no sensor for that motor) i am at a loss,
