I'm replacing the cables in my old boat, was thinking about replacing these cable ends. This shifter end cant be right, Its had a Nylon locknut on a regular bolt to go through the shifter lever, the way it is you cant tighten it all the way otherwise the shifter wont be able to stroke. If someone can show me a picture of what should actually be installed on the lever part that would be great.

Thanks

Go to http://shop.evinrude.com/ Then click on Electronic Parts Catalog. Then, select OB Accessories from the drop-down list that defaults to Evinrude. Continue to navigate to the control.

You're missing the lock-pin and spring. Unfortunately it's 20 bucks new. Hence the $0.25 nut and bolt.....

Also, that cable in the picture is a throttle cable. where the 2 smaller bolts are there should be 2 small screws that retains a clip.

Both the throttle and shifter use the same 0385956 casing guide. The hardware that attaches to the casing guide (the spring pin or the spring clip) differs between the shifter and the throttle side.
