I have heard that these starter brackets cost a bit of money and are hard to find. I am going to look at an electric start '56 Johnson and just want to know how much this piece might add to it's value. I don't see where any have sold on ebay or http://www.aomci.org/. Just curious if any one here has bought them and how much they paid.

Thanks.

30hp is not so difficult to find. 15hp is the rare one. And expecially the Johnson 15 because it is different than the Evinrude 15.

JB the motor I am looking at is an RDE18 C.

F_R Thank you for the info. I actually picked up a bracket on Ebay last night for the 15hp Evinrude (because I already own that motor). I kind of bought it on a whim. I was actually browsing trying to find a price on the 30hp brackets, but there were none listed. I don't have plans to make that motor an electric start, but I guess if I want too then I have the hard part done.
