Evinrude control cables

Is it possible to shorten the cables? The end of the red outer jacket is corroded at the very end. I have extra slack, so I wanted to trim off the end and re-attach the control arm. How do I do it?

im pretty sure you cant trim them however thats a teleflex morse 33c cable and ive seen em for as low as 17.00 each for a 14'er

hey im having trouble setting mine up i have the exact same cables but my ends are different what year engine do you have those on?

Nope, the can't be shortened. And yep, they are 33C cables.
