My 2005 90-HP has been at the dealer for over a month. He ordered a starter and finally put it in. Now says not the starter but there is small gear in between the starter pinion and the flywheel. He says this gear has a broken tooth. Does this make sense? I have an older 90 HP Evinrude and there is no gear in between the pinion gear on starter and the flywheel.
