I purchased a used Johnson Evinrude 115 Turbo Jet Powerhead off eBay. The seller has an excellent rating and appears to deal in boats that are being parted-out after an insurance claim.
According to the seller, compression is between 130-140 on all cylinders. The boat was parted-out because of vandalism. They claim the engine has not been used in salt water.
I am very familiar with Caveat emptor, and even if the powerhead is misrepresented, the spare parts are worth 2X what I paid.
My question is simple.
Before dropping this powerhead on, what things should I consider changing?
Thermostats? Exhaust Manifold Gaskets? Head Gaskets?
