Electric starter for 1965 Johnson 28 hp

Hey guys,

I bought my husband a 1964 Boston Whaler with a 1965 Johnson 28hp motor. Pulling the cord to start it is way too hard for me to do. Anybody have any leads on where to get the Electric Starter kit (part number 379600)?

379600 is superseded by 171847. If you are looking for a new one, try www.sea-way.com It won't be cheap. Otherwise, you probably will have to piece one together from here and there and anywhere else.

Thanks so much for your help. I have sent an email request for the revised part number to SeaWay. I really appreciate your help as I am in the search for the starter. We love this wonderful 1964 boat, and the 1965 motor is original to it. thanks! Sara Edi
