I am about to try to fire up this new to me engine. I have cleaned the carb, done compression test, and checked for fire.

My Question: How would I go about hooking it up to a water hose?

I would go with putting it in a barrel but I do not know if the cooling system will pump enough to even see if it runs.

p.s. It looks like the intake is on the bottom by the prop.

Thanks,
Steve

Yep, you can't use a hose unless you have one of those rare Tempo Adapters. And if you have one, you already know how to use it. So, the answer is trash can. Make sure it is deep enough in the water or you'll be back asking why it doesn't cool. The water pump needs to be a couple inches under water before starting the motor.

Thanks F_R. I will give it a shot. This thing has been sitting a while and I am sure the pump will not work. If I hear it run I can justify ordering parts :).
