Hey all,
I just purchased a small craft with a running Johnson Super Sea-Horse 60 Electric (Model# VX-13A between 1964 and 1967:confused:). It started and ran ok (low power) before I hit rocky shore in reverse at very low speed. Now it cranks but doesnt start (i assume the lower unit is toast?). I dont mind investing time and $ in it if it is a solid unit that I can find parts for and is easy to work on. Any thoughts?...
thx! Tim

1967. Parts are available for it, although I'm not a huge fan of the distributor ignition. Will cost $$ for parts.
It would be a real keeper if it has the heavy-duty gearcase (two piece split gearcase).

The lower unit itself would not keep the motor from starting. A sheared flywheel key after hitting something would.
