1987 28 hp Evinrude is loud

What can i do to quiet down my engine?

Where is the muffller if there is one?

Any suggestions?

No muffler, the exhaust dumps straight out the hole in the exhaust housing.

I took out the old foam in the cowl ..and got a hi density foam..cut and formed and glued it in....cut the noise down much better..still hear it....but not as loud...the carb sucking is the loudest to me and made it some what quiet
