I was just wondering what the correct plug gap for a 1969 Johnson 20hp was? And the Champion J8C is the correct plug correct?

Plug gap = .035
I beleave the orginal plug was a J4C, but if you did a lot of low speed or trolling you could use a J6C. It has been a long time, and my memory is shot, I am sure some expert will come along and help out with the correct plug.

Use J4C gapped at .030". For extended trolling use J6C.

Currently recommended plug is J4C, gapped at 0.030"

Id reckon J8C would be rather hot!
Gap 30, 35, 40 thou whatever seems to run best

Dang you guys are fast. It currently has a J8C in it so that is the wrong plug? I do do a lot of trolling so a J6C is recommended? Thanks guys.
