I need help. My friends 1988 28HP evinrude will not start. It was used about a week ago, was running fine and then died on the lake. I am getting no power at all to the motor. It will not turn over or show any signs of having power. I know it is not the battery because I charged the one on the boat and also tried using another fully charged battery. Not sure if the problem is the ignition switch, kill switch, or the neutral switch. When I turn the key to the start position, the starting soleniod does not recieve any power to function. It is recieving the 12.8 v supplied by the battery. Also the starter will kick over when using a jumper cable to kick start it. Any help will be appreciated.
