91 Evinrude 70hp tracker bent skeg

any way to straighten out a bent skeg or is it a goner? Motor otherwise handles ok but its quite a bend..

can it be heated and bent back? or will that weaken/stress the metal too much?

depending how low/high it is bent, you might want to cut it off at the bend and install a new skeg-guard on it. Do an internet search if you haven't. Mine was bent towards the bottom, when the impeller was due to be replaced I put the skeg in a vise and cranked hard on it. It helped quite a bit, but not completely straight.
