What color is my spark plug suppose to be???

I have a johnson 70el cte, I just change plugs from autolite to Champion, I ran it for about 3/4 hour at the harbor and came home, let it cool down and check the plugs. They look like they are running rich and seem alittle wet. What color should they be and how do I go about getting it done.

Reading spark plug color went out the window years ago with electronic ignition. They will look like crap except perhaps after a long high speed run. Then they will only look a little crappy.

The ignition systems of today can fire right through all that crap.

Put the plugs back in and don't worry about it.

If your motor has idle mixture needles, set them for best idle.

is it possible to check for a bad lean condition by examining the plugs???
