I have a 2000 175 hp Ficht. This past weekend I had the fuel pressure valve blow out and had gas squirting all over - very lucky I did not have a fire. Was able to plug it and get back to the landing. Talked with a local mechanic and he says I need to replace the whole manifold. This is the 4th one he has seen this summer. My question is why can't I just replace the T where the valve is with a single high pressure fuel line and leave out the valve. The manifold is going to cost about $400 to replace. It sounds like they will test the fuel pressure in a different place now anyway???
Any thoughts would be appreciated...
