Evinrude 9.9 Serial/Model Number

I have acquired an Evinrude 9.9 outboard and am unable to locate a model number anywhere (outside/inside) but the serial number tag is attached and readable ( 6704 MC 51053 ). From this, can I determine the model number and year of the engine so I can order a manual for it?? Any and All help welcomed.

If you call the dealership they can give you the info you need from the serial number. If you find the model number we can help you on here.

The model number should be on the ID plate on the transom bracket.

If you had not said it was a 9.9 I would have said 6704 was the model number ... but that would have made it a 1967 6 hp!
