1984 Evinrude 60hp remote control Parts

I am searching for the following parts for my boat: 0389266 SHIFT & THROTTLE PLATE ASSY. and 0390610 SHIFT LEVER ASSY. I have a 1984 evinrude 60hp e60tlcre. I need the above mentioned parts and they are nowhere to be found. I am wondering if anyone has either of these parts or knows where I can get them.

You might try searching out some marine salvage yards in your area.

I have considered that but there are none in my area. The few places here that have anything related to boats have been stripped to the bone.

I have someone who offered me a OMC shift lever which looks like it might be one of the parts I am searching for. The pn is 387726. Does anyone know if this is the same as the evinrude pn 390610?

It is no long available there I ordered one and paid and they refunded my money this morning.

I know I shouldn't quote myself......however, I ordered a shift lever from ebay which is for another control box all together the above mentioned evinrude p/n 387726. It is almost the exact same part the only difference is the slot on the 387726 lever for your warm up lever is round and the 390610 is a squared type slot.

It only took a hot second and a dremel tool to remove a very small amount of excess plastic to make the two levers the same.

I wanted to say thank you for all the help and share my fix if there is anyone else in this situation..

Just make sure that you measure and remove small amounts of plastic until it works. You can always take more out but I don't know of a way you can put any back in... Like I said it only took me a second.....

There is a company that makes the part u need the link below will take u to their site then just enter either the johnson/evinrude part number 390610 or the Mallory part number 9-71101. They also make a replacement part for johnson/evinrude part number 397272 which is Mallory part number 9-71100

I have one of these, part # 390610. During my search I found the part 387726 that you had to modify. I bought it and then also found the right one, 390610. I modified the 387726 I found and got it to work so I now have part 390610 available for sale. PM me if you are interested in purchasing the 390610 part I have left over. It was removed from a brand new control box and has no wear what so ever.

2017 *** I just wanted to update that I too have the same problem BUT do not want to break out a dremel tool to make the shift lockout lever fit so I'm going to buy the matching part instead.

SHIFT LEVER #387726 - FITS: EVINRUDE/JOHNSON 55HP THROUGH 235HP, 1979 - 1981.
Matching Shift Lockout Lever #0323752

My only hope is that this isn't a drastic defect that was then updated to the square slot type considering they only used this round style for 3 years vs. how long the square style was run for. 1982+
