Sorry for the elementary questions here, but thanks for the help. According to sparkplugs.com and the champion manual at West Marine, my engine uses the L82c plug, but it currently has L77JC4 plugs in it and seems to run fine. Does it matter or should I be using 1 vs the other? Thanks again

Just to point out that the letter "Q" indicates low resistance inductive suppression. If you do not need plugs with radio interference suppression then L82C or L77JC4 will be quite satisfactory.

What you must not use are plugs with resistive suppression, denoted by an "R", with the OMC CDI ignition system

You'll notice that the "Q" plugs are recommended for all engines with VRO/OMS systems
