Hi,

Couple of quick questions regarding my 1991 Evinrude Tilt/trim motor and unit (mounted on a 19' C-Hawk CC) --Through the process of elimination using the manual and a meter, I determined that I need a new motor so I was able to remove the whole tilt/trim unit from the boat (just to get at that back motor screw). When I took the motor apart, it was filled with fluid that was milky -obviously had some water in it so I had two questions;

1) Is it normal for the motor itself to have fluid in it? Seems like a fairly good seal coming up from the base so I was a bit surprised at this.

2) If it does need fluid, when I replace the motor and fill the system via the reservoir screw, will this be sufficient? I would think so but was wondering if there was any special trick to it.

Any comments welcome --thanks...
