1974 Evinrude 40HP Oil Mixture?

Hello, i was wondering if I could get some help. I just purchased a 1969 Chrysler Charger 118 boat with a 40HP Evinrude. I am not quite sure of the year, but the previous owner said that he "suspected" it was a 1974. Anybody know what oil mixture it'll use?

I was planning on changing the lubricant on the bottom end of the motor (Model No. 40455) What kind of gear oil should I use?

Any high viscosity ( around 80W 90) outboard engine gear oil.

you should not reuse the seals on the level and drain plugs.

If the old oil is milky looking it indicates water is getting in.
