MIXTURE HELP was my P.O. crazy??

I have a 1975 Evinrude 85hp, he says run it ar 15-16:1, I can swear I read it should be 50:1

Some people can easily make the number 50 sound like 15. The correct mixture is 50/1 .

I know, i triple checked with him... he said "one-five".. if it has been running like that, what would be wrong with the engine to make them use a 15/16:1 ratio? can i thin it out safely if is been running like that say to 20/24:1???

Run it on 50:1. The old excess oil will clear itself out. It won't hurt anything other than smoke a lot and possibly foul plugs.

You may want to use some "seafoam" to decarb too!

Well, there are no worries. As long as he owned it, he didn't do any internal damge to it. If anything, he helped it.
