1986 johnson 90hp wount start..PLEASE HELP!

hey guys I bought a used 1986 90hp johnson and installed it on my boat and seems to run fine until when I go to put it in gear and it would die. I messed around with the friction throttle which seems to fix the problem but when I went to give it more gas it died on me and it wount start. I put fresh set of plugs and wires and it seems to get spark and fuel but the previous owner mentioned it was winterized. Do I need to do anything to the motor after its been winterized ? im sorry im new into boats and trying to learn, if anyone knows what could be the problem or can help, that would be greatly appericated! thanks

I have a 1990 88 spl having issuse starting myself I took starter off the post on starter moves in and out I tighten the nut down on it put back together tried to start things were going ok but it itstill struggles to spin the flywheel is the starter bad ir should I gp to the selinoid
