Hot battery terminal

Today I went to start my 93 115 and I cranked it for about 10-15 seconds, nothing, touched the negative terminal on the battery and it was searing hot, enough to burn my finger and blister. Why would it be getting so hot?

Any thoughts.

are the terminals nice and tight? i get that problem if i dont make the wing nuts real tight.

Hot terminal = loose or tight but dirty connection.

Thanks guys I will double check the terminals, the pos looks a little corroded will clean and see what happens.
