I have a 93 Statos with a 48 SPL Evinrude outboard on it. It currently has manual tilt and trim. Is it possible to put an electric trim on it? My throttle handle has the electric trim button on it. If its possible, how much money am I looking at here? Thanks .

Re: Power Trim Upgrade?

I am facing the same problem with my '98 Johnson 50 spl. You can upgrade, you just need the hydraulic system. That is probably part no.: 438135 which goes for around $500.00 used and lists new for $1,150.00 (let me know if you can find a better price because I have to pick this part up). You would still need switches, solenoid, wiring, etc., and about 3 hours mechanic's shop time.

The touch assist that is on there, Part no.: 0434037, is junk. When they fail, and they have a track record of failing, they cannot be rebuilt. The replacement part new lists at $470.00 but can be found for $399.50. I just broke my second one inside a year.
