2002 Johnson/Bombodier Tilt/Trim Fill?

I have a 2002 Johnson/bombodier that I would like to make sure the fluid is full, Do I just check the red bigger plastic cap/screw? I unscrewed it and fluid came out, so I put it back in, quite a bit wanted to come out. The fluid looked like oil/water mix color?

run tilt all the way up. lock it there, then check.

I had the motor all the way up and the fluid wanted to come back out, should it be milky white? Even after letting it sit in the up position for a while?

Should I just drain it and fill with new fluid? Do I drain it when it is in the up position?
