1970 60hp johnson

Hi i have a 1970 60hp johnson and it has a miss when it runs. what can i try to fix it. It starts and runs fine but has a miss. it has new plugs and a plus pack on it. thanks

Try a timing light on ea cyl , if its dropping spark it will show.

if it lose spark in a cyl what do i look at next could it be the points doing the missing.

It can be. But first I gotta ask you this: What plugs are you running? If you are trying to run the original surface gap plugs, you are wasting your time. Toss them as far as you can throw them and install L77JC4 or QL77JC4 plugs. Half of these gray hairs were caused by trying to make those motors run on surface gap plugs even back when they were new.

No intent to hijack, but maybe the OP (along with myself) needs a clarification on what you mean by a "surface gap" plug? Never heard that particular term.
