Model = J55MLSTS
I just picked up a '03 Military Model 55hp Johnson. I did find a parts manual online and purchased that. But was looking for some sort of Owner's Manual and a Repair Manual that covers this enginge model. From looking at the SELCO manual that covers '03 models, this looks more like an '02 and or earlier?.
Runs fine, needs some cosmetic work in the form of some additional black paint. I don't have a reliable mechanic close that is reasonable on price, so I tend to do the basic maintenance myself.
Would like to add electric start to it. But I think that's the only modification I really want to do.
Other than that, don't know much about it. I have owned 1 Outboard my whole life. A 25hp '72 Johsonon Seahorse that runs like I bought it yesterday.
Any help or info on this model would be greatly appreciated.
