Really necessary to replace screws on Intake Manifold?

I'm getting ready to rebuild the carbs on my old Evinrude (70773s) and am in the process of making out my parts list and have a question. In the manual it says you need to replace the self locking screws that hold the air silencer base to the carbs (0323044 ? SCREW,BASE TO CARBURETOR (9 per engine) (side note the website says 9 per engine but the oem manual says 6) but is it really necessary to replace them or can they be reused? The only reason I ask is that they are very expensive, $7.50 each for a total of $45 for six screws :( and my parts bill is threatening to grow beyond my current budget... If they must be replaced then so be it but I thought it was at least worth checking first... Thanks.

Cool, I was hoping you'd say that :)

Which type of loctite do you use?

Blue 242 removeable would be best suited to the application, you dont want those puppies coming loose. ;)

i just tighten them up good.
they are covering their butts, just in case one works loose, and the carb sucks it in.

My air silencer bolts had thread locker on them from original so i guess Mr Johnnyrude thinks its a good idea as well.
