1992 250 V8 Carb/intake/cylinder question

How does the 8 carbs feed each of the 8 cylinders? Back a few years ago, the lowest carb on the port side was leaking from the vent so I took it apart, figuring a needle and seat, changed it and the problem was solved. I am a bit concerned because the sparkplug lowest cylinder on the starboard side runs cleaner than all the others. Does the lowest carb feed the lowest cylinder? I have a thought that the retaining spring for the needle and seat may have been installed wrong and may be holding the float up and restricting the amount of fuel it gets or is that even possible?

Thanks

If its been a while I'd get new kits and rebuild all the carbs, $22 ea here on iBoats. Couple of hrs and you're all set.

The carbs on a 90* looper are on an "X" front half. Yes, the lowest carb will feed the lowest cylinder but the lowest carb is on the starboard side and the lowest cylinder is on the port side.
