Newbie here. I just bought a '98 Rude 115hp Spl. I've read that the Spl came w/o VRO capability so it'll have to have oil mixed with the gas. Could one buy an oil tank and pump then install it in this motor or would it just be best to mix the oil with the gas?

I believe the wireing is there and all you would have to do is plug it in. That said I don't think I would go to the trouble and expense on a 12 year old motor.

If your evinrude is anything like my 115 Johnson SPL there is an electrical plug on the left side of the engine for a VRO, it would probably be the only one with nothing plugged into it.

Thanks interesting...but shouldn't I have to replace the fuel pump with a VRO (oil/fuel) pump?

The pump is most likely NOT there. You would need, pump, lines, tank.

Look where you fuel hose plugs in. Do you see another port there that is blocked off?
