59 Johnson voltage regulator

I have a 59 Johnson 50hp with a generator I found on an early 60's 75 hp. I was told that you can use a Harley voltage regulator with this generator. I know it is a 12v 10 amp generator and it looks like 65 and latter Harleys had a 12v 10 amp generator. Has anyone actually tried this regulator?

Post a link to the Harley regulator. The Johnson regulator is one of the old mechanical vibrating types.

Actually I was looking at an old mechanical regulator that Harley Davidson used. Here is a link to the one that is on EBAY.
