Re: 18 hp Evinrude 57-58

I just bought an older 14 ft aluminum boat that has an 18 hp 57 evinrude on the back and decided to fix it up. The last owner said it ran but was pretty touchy at times. I've ordered a tune-up kit and impeller for it, but I'm afraid that one of the problems is the 3-prong fuel connector from the gas tank. The connection is sloppy and when I prime the line from the tank gas comes out of the connection by the motor. Sierra has the assembly for $150 or something ridiculous. I'm hoping to get this thing running soon to use this summer, any idea where I can find a new one quickly if i need it. Or what it is even called to search for one on ebay etc?

57 Evie, you should start your own thread. You probably only need to replace the O rings in the connector, not the entire connector. They are available from Evinrude dealers. Rick
