I have a 1995 Johnson 175 hp Ocean Runner with a counter-clockwise [left hand] gearbox and I was wondering if anyone knows how to convert it back to a standard clockwise [right hand] drive.
I think the conversion would only involve the gearbox or the shifter but am not sure.
Hope someone can help.

The only difference that I'm aware of is in the gear box. The driveshaft spins the same direction in all models. It's not a standard gearbox being run in reverse.

You should be able to replace the lower leg with a standard rotation gearbox.

Swap the gear boxes and its good to go,
that contra gear should fetch a premium,
there isn't too many of them floating around.
I have a contra 150hp.

Thanks for your replies, I found an exploded view of both types of boxes and it appears that the prop shaft setup is different. Would be best to change Box.
Thanks again
