I have noticed the power tilt trim on my outboard is making a harsh noise. When tilting up or down it sounds perfectly fine, however when it hits the two trim rods when going down it sounds terrible....... when coming up from these rods it sounds fine its only when the two rods are being depressed into the cylinders.
Is there meant to be a harsher sound coming from the trim motor when these rods are being depressed or do I have a problem? I am considering flushing and refilling the oil in the system.....
Motor is a 1989 70hp Johnson J70TLCEM
