Hi i have a 90 HP Johnson V4-VRO but the label on the mount has been painted over and is unreadable. I can find any labels anywhere. Is there another way to identify the year and model #? Thanks!!

Look for a silver plug on the powerhead, should have a number stamped on it. Find it and report back. If that doesn't work sand off the paint, the numbers are stamped and should be legible.

"Most" Johnsons only have the serial number on the plug. But maybe you'll get lucky.

Can't you tell from the SN what it is?

I do believe that you can give your serial # to any OMC parts store and they can look it up for you..there are some guys in this forum that can do it too. You should be able to carefully clean off the paint and get model # though.
