How to fill power tilt/trim

I have a 1979 Evinrude V4 85hp outboard. I think I know how to add power trim fluid to the reservoir but I want to do it right.

Do I simply remove the screw, add the fluid into the reservoir/shaft until the fluid starts to come out? Then replace the cap, tilt the motor up and down a full cycle 3-4 times and that's it?

tilt motor all the way up, lock in place, then add fluid, then cycle down and back up, lcok it, add more fluid, repeat, repeat, until it will not take any more. now cycle 5-6 times, then verify it is full.
