My father is finished with my grandpa's 18hp Johnson Sea-Horse. It last ran 5-6 years ago, but we don't have a boat for it anymore.

The model is FD-15, and the serial number is 321561. Any idea if it's a 1957? Does it have any value? It's in reasonable condition, but likely needs work.

Thanks.

if it runs,Id say 100 to 200 dollars,if not running, its basically a parts motor, maybe $50.Its one of those ,if its nice and clean ,and, someone likes the nostaglia ,you may have a buyer.Fact is,many of the parts NEED to be replaced due to age and the newer gas products will distroy much of the rubber in the motor. Then there is the old ignition system is has.The engines from the late 70's on are far more advanced therefore that olden goldie ,in perfect running condition doesnt have the power ,lightweight etc the new stuff has.Unfortunatly ,its not old enough to be a collectable, not new enough to be considered for good reliable use.Doesnt hurt to put an ad in a local paper, but dont expect much.Sorry.Ive been there

FD 15 is a 1961 18 hp. no collectable value, but a good basic motor, easy to work on. if it turns over and has compression, $150. if it will start and run up to $350 depending on cosmetics.
