I have a johnsonn 33 electric start with electric choke. Pretty sure it is 1966. starts up fine, idles good. put in gear, and throttle up to slow speed, and I noticed what felt like I bumped a submergered log, but then motor did it again. Looking at motor while running in water, I could see the motor move a little, when bump or misfire happened again.
It feels like hard shifting on a car between gears. I thought at first it jumped out of gear, but it keeps running and moving boat along. Now I am thinking it must be a misfire. its possable one cylinder was not firing at the time, and the other cut out for a second or two. You feel a slight lunge in the boat when this happens.
I made sure gas tank was full, and pumped up gas line bulb. not sure if fuel, or ignition problem. plug wires on tight. ignition coils, possably?
Would appreciate any comments on problem.

Thanks ...
